I didn’t set out to become a speaker. I set out to solve a problem.

I co-founded WhatFriendsDo after watching a close friend battle brain cancer—and seeing how hard it was for people to help in a meaningful way. Everyone wanted to do something.

No one knew where to start.

So we built a platform to turn goodwill into real support. Meals delivered. Houses cleaned. Bills paid. Dogs walked. People showing up in ways that matched their actual strengths.

Aimee on stage-Kindness and Generosity

What began as a simple tool became something bigger: a window into how much life—grief, caregiving, burnout, overwhelm—shows up at work. And how unprepared most workplaces are to deal with it.

That’s when the mission shifted.

Over the next 15 years, I didn’t just grow a business—I coached leaders, built teams, and worked with organizations trying to do better for their people.

I learned that leadership isn’t about doing it all—it’s about knowing how to ask for help, create safety, and build systems that support both people and performance.

I learned how to lead through uncertainty.

I learned how to build cultures that support people and performance.

And I learned that empathy, when done well, isn’t soft. It’s strategic.

And it all comes back to one simple truth:
People want to help—they just need to know how.

That’s what I speak about now.
That’s the lens I bring to every room.

Human-first. Clear-eyed. Grounded in real life—not just theory.

Here’s what I believe:

  • Empathy and accountability aren’t opposites—they’re partners

  • Emotional fatigue isn’t cured with yoga classes or pizza parties

  • Burnout isn’t a personal failure. It’s a systemic signal

  • Psychological safety isn’t a vibe. It’s a leadership practice

  • And people-first cultures don’t happen by accident. They happen on purpose

A little more about me (off-stage):

  • I’ve keynoted conferences, led leadership retreats, and consulted with companies across sectors

  • I’ve also been the one juggling deadlines, caregiving, and burnout behind the scenes

  • I’m a founder, a speaker, a question-asker, and a firm believer that boundaries are good for everyone

  • I believe leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about making space for people to bring theirs

The short version?
I help organizations lead with heart and backbone—because that’s what creates cultures where people want to stay, grow, and show up fully.
